Hello,

I'm looking to U/G my video card to an AGP 8x card.
Taking performance and my budget into account I've
boiled it down to either the Chaintech FX6600GT or
the XFX nVidia GeForce 6600GT. Both are the same price.
The XFX card has Dual DVi but I don't know what that means.
Does anyone have any opinions (horror stories etc.) on either
of these cards?

TIA

Carl

what kind of monitor do you have?
dual dvi usually means there are no conventional connectors, most new
lcd monitors will have a dvi connector, else if you have a crt then you
won't be able to connect using dvi
i'd suggest the card without the dual dvi

I have 2 CRT monitors. Can I not use
some DVi-to-VGA adapters to connect
the 2 CRT monitors to a dual DVi card?
If that is possible, is there any image
degradation because of the VGA adapter?

Usually a retail (or more than mere card in antistatic bag
if whitebox/OEM) card will include one adapter, for one
monitor. There usually isn't any visible degradation from
the adapter, but I can't recall if I've ever closely
compared at very high resolutions and refresh rates.
