HI,

I'm afraid I'm stuck now. After flashing the M2D-VM HDMI BIOS yesterday, I
still had problems with hardware, no longer memory or video related, but
other.

So, I flashed my BIOS to a Beta version to see if that would bring any
improvement. It went OK, I rebooted and I can't get into the Bios setup any
more. So I guess that was that.

Do you have any tip how I could repair this?

If not, I'll put another mobo in, that has less problems and a good BIOS.

Could you recommend a GOOD motherboard with a good BIOS and when possible no
onboard video and sound? It's for a AMD Athlon X2 BE-2300 processor and at
least 4GB memory..

TIA, Derk

Yes...contact the mfg of the board and see if they can supply a replacement
bios chip...
or reflash your chip

As far as replacing the board...I'd look for a mfg that has a bios backup
feature...
in other words a bios that can still be used even if a flash fails

As a Brit I'd like to thank the Americans for their help in the war
against terror because if they'd not funded the IRA for 30 years, we
wouldn't know how to deal with terrorists.

In situations such as this it is usually a good idea to refer to
the manual to find out what the recovery methods for that particular
board are. In this case page 2-10. The manual is available at
http://static.tigerdirect.ca/pdf/ASUS_M2A-VM_HDMI_Manual.pdf if
you don't have your copy lying around. I'll leave it up to you to
find an approproate BIOS file for your MB.

Have you tried resetting the BIOS with the Clear CMOS jumper?

Mike.
