I have a pair of Seagate 300 Gb discs plugged into the SATA of an ECS
k8M800 M2 (rev.2) mainboard .
I jumped the discs to limit them to the lower data rate of 150 ....
all the board can handle .

I told the main BIOS to expect RAID .
I worked thru the RAID bios , which set up the array fine .
In Windows XP , the VIA raid tool reports the discs working fine in
the array I set up .

Problem is that there is no sign of the array or the discs in Windows
Explorer .
I=B4ve updated and checked all the drivers .
Device manager says the RAID controller is working fine .

I hope I=B4m missing somehting simple .

THanks

In Windows XP, open the control panel..
Go to Administrative Tools
Go To Computer Management
Go to Disk Management

Find the disk, create a partition(s) on it and format them.

Thankyou .
That worked fine .
For the life of me , I can=B4t understand why those steps aren=B4t
mentioned in the mobo manual .
Nor do they come up on any of the XP wizards that I launched .

Again , thanks

Chris
