health screen too (if not also using a multimeter).

Just for the heck of it, you might still try copying the
files on another system. If nothing else works you might
also try using a different optical drive in the problem
system. Was the optical drive new, used, known working
recently or ??

Does it always stop at the same point, files?

Not much point in much further expansion of possible causes
until more common causes like memory stability are checked.

Can I run that without an OS installed? I'l check into it.

The CD is not new. I have another new DVD burner I can try it

always the same files.
