It's been years since I have added sticks of RAM to a PC so here
goes...

I have 2 sticks of DDR SDRAM PC3200 (512meg each) and then one memory
bank spare...

Can I add another stick, but 1 Gig to make the PC 2gig or do all the
sticks have to be the same value?

Just to clarify I'd then have 2x512meg and 1x1gig....

Cheers....

They can be different sizes.

I'm not prejudiced. I hate everyone equally.

If you tell us more about the motherboard brand and model number, or
the computer brand and model number, we can give better feedback.

If you don't want to do that, you can get some free information
from www.crucial.com or www.kingston.com . Both of those companies
have search engines for RAM upgrades, with thousands of computers
listed.

For a 1GB DDR stick of RAM, don't buy it from Ebay. Buy virtually
anything else, but don't buy 1GB DDR there. The problem is, most
of 1GB DDR RAM on Ebay is "high density" and not likely to make
you happy in the long run. Reputable sellers like Crucial or
Kingston, will sell you good RAM.

Thanks for both your advice...

I have a VIA VT8383/5 Apollo K8T800....

I guess I can have ram of different sizes...it's just that back in the
day (about 10 years ago) I have to have 2 sticks of 128meg to make
256meg but not 2x64 and one 1x128...

Cheers...

Ahh...just used the crucial memory scanner and was exactly what I was
looking for so thanks for that...

I'll have to buy from a different site though as I'm in the UK...I'll
look for the UK counterpart websites...

Thanks again....
