Just stripped the system to bare essentials and tried booting - NO JOY
Removed all RAM and tried booting - NO BOOT, NO BEEPS, NO JOY!

You don't mention whether the power supply is new, but regardless it may be inadequate. I'm sure that 7800 pulls a lot of current (does it have a power connection on it?). If you have access to a PCI video card you could try booting the system with it. You could also swap out the memory with something slower to test. Sometimes the timings on cutting edge memory are too fast to match what the motherboard bios is capable of handling. I've read of some people having to boot the system with slower memory, then change the memory speed from "by SPD" to more relaxed timings so they could get thier systems to boot with their new, fast memory. And make sure you remove all the hardware but the video, memory, cpu when first testing out the system. Just a couple things to look into. MT

Cannot even get the system to BEEP at me if I power up with NO RAM in it!

Please log in for more thread options Remove all but the basics- processor, one stick of RAM, video card, one hard
drive and one optical drive. If you can, test the video card in another machine first. Clear CMOS. Try to boot from there. Fitz
