Please log in for more thread options My son's computer is one I built for him about 2-3 years ago. It has developed an odd issue. When I press the on swtich nothing happens. If I plug and unplug is a few times it will evenutally work. No real pattern that I can see. Also the Audigy 2ZS Platnium sound card only works occasionally. If we turn the speakers on and off sometime if will work. Running Win XP SP2, 2 gim memory, Asus mother board, AMD X2 chip, Nvidia graphics card (6000 series). The power supply is an Antec True power 2.0 480 blue. As I recall the first power supply on this computer (the one that came with the Antec Sonnata 2 case) failed after about 2 months and I replaced it with this one. No issues until about 2 weeks ago. My first thought was powe supply is going back, but I guess it could also be the power cord, case switch, or MB issue. Before I buy a new power supply here, any thoughts?

Please log in for more thread options and then stops? Most Asus boards have an LED that will be on if power is going to the MB. Is that on? If the answer to both is yes, I would suspect the PSU in "most" cases. It is really an educated guess since I have seen it (and read about it here) on many occaisions. The only real way to determine the problem is to check voltages from the PSU to the MB or try a known good PSU if you have one around. There have been a lot of Antecs having problems lately, especially in this NG. I use PC Power and Cooling PSUs in most cases myself, but that is just a personal choice. Ed

Please log in for more thread options Thanks - Let me check on this. I do know that the fan does not come on and
stop. When I press the button nothing happens at all. When it does finally start the fan comes on and stays on. I'll have to open it up when my son shuts it down this afternoon and look for the LED when it is down. I may try a differnt PSU instead of Antec. I liked the the fact that this one adjust the fan speeds for me if there is no load. I will have to check the MB specs as it may have the QFan alternative (I use that fine on my current rig) >
