Please log in for more thread options I have 2 HDs in a SATA Raid0 configuration and a recently installed SATA DVD writer worked fine straight away. But I've just put in a 3rd drive in the last remaining SATA slot and it's invisible. All help and advice gratefully welcomed. RoS

It can take many tries before I actually stop things where I want. For what it's worth, I have not had much success doing this using a USB keyboard, most likely due to when the USB drivers get loaded on my system.

Experiment with Ctrl-Alt-+/- to see if your machine still has a software turbo button - it isn't universal on modern machines by any means. The plus and minus are the ones on the numeric keypad, not by the backspace key. However, even if the system does still support it, you may have to experiment to see how early in the boot process it becomes operational since it may not be straight away. -- Andrew Smallshaw andrews@sdf.lonestar.org
