A security industry rag, _Security System News_, announced that Home Director has closed its doors for good.
Home Director, once the chattel of the likes of IBM and Sears, had commercial existence as at least three very different entities: 1) the X10-only "Home Director" that flooded the mass market 7 0r 8 years ago, 2) a sophisticated HA system powered by SavoySoft's CyberHouse engine and promoted and supported by IBM until about 1999, and 3) a structure-wiring/no-software wholesaler/installer. The latter went public in 2003.
Yet another example of how very difficult it is to make a HA programming succeed in the marketplace despite deep support by international heavy hitters.
