control power to cable modem?

is there a way to use the 1132u powerlinc to cycle power to my cable modem?

Sure, just use an appliance module with it and plug the modem's power supply into it. I've been doing that for years because the modem is in the garage and I don't want to have to walk across the house to pull the plug.

I have a x-10 appliance module connected to my DSL router's power cord. There was a time a few months back, that the connection would go bad every couple days, so with a script, I power off the router and then power it on again in the middle of the night. The downtime is only a minute or so, but I know that the network will be back in a day if I'm out of town.
