I am having 2 (1,1)Gb rams. One is of 16x and the other is of 8x. Can I
use both of them parallely. I had tried but only one among the two is
detected by the motherboard (intel D102GGC2). If anyone know about it,
then please let me know.

Have a look at the DIMMs (check to see if the module with x16 chips on it
is double sided), and read this article.

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d102ggc2/sb/CS-026579.htm

"Double-sided DIMMs with x16 organization are not supported."

It is possible, that statement is backed up by a BIOS restriction, and
when the BIOS reads the SPD chip on the x16 DIMM, the BIOS decides to
ignore it.

Very few motherboards support double-density modules. I haven't see one
yet but then I haven't gone looking for one because I'm not going to
bother buying the SLOWER double-density modules.
