Please log in for more thread options SiS chipset is 20-50% slower that an equivent Intel or VIA chipset. Also ECS is the El Cheapo Motherboard manufacturor. It's got good parts, Hard drives, the burner, video card (Really a good card), processor. Probably a good case. The RAM and Modem aren't great, but resellable. Floppy drive and ordinary CD aren't worth much) The Monitor's too heavy to ship, for it's resale value, consider donating locally. Wipe the drives, you don't want your credit card numbers stolen. Might want to part it out, put it up on an actual FOR sale group. Probably get more from it that way. People with old computers are always needing parts. Complete, with monitor, I'd put it at Max $200. Once you start counting the Software as "parts" you can do better. tonyg wrote:

I've posted a list of bad caps before but it probably wasn't comprehensive. As for the boards I've never tried to put a list together nor seen one but some boards are memorable because they were so popular, or because I ended up repairing them. Here are some of the suspect caps, Lelon Luxon Tayeh Jackcon I,Q JPCON Chhsi GSC but some of these depended on the model and use. I've seen a lot of failed IQ caps in the board VRM subcircuits but even Asus has scattered the smaller ones around their boards and they haven't had any tendency to fail then, AFAIK.
