The "Front USB" connector looks a bit odd to me: +-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+ | | | | | | | GND | | D3+ | D3- | PWR | | | | | | | +-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+ | | | | | | | PWR | D2- | D2+ | | GND | | | | | | | +-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+ I'm more familiar with something like this: +-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+ | | | | | | | PWR | D3- | D3+ | GND | key | | | | | | | +-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+ | | | | | | PWR | D2- | D2+ | GND | | | | | | +-----+-----+-----+-----+ Although it's a bit hard to tell, this product: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813999355 ...appears to have usb connectors designed to fit a 4x1 pin header--one for each port. That would work on the second layout, but not the first. The audio connector appears to be more of a match. I guess what you should do is settle on a what product you want, then we/you can use product manuals to compare it's connectors with your motherboard's pin headers.

It appears you are right. As I wrote, I didn't look too closely -- just enough to see if the type of header and number of pins was good. It would probably be pretty easy to pop and swap the pins from the more standard modern USB internal cable to make it work. The audio pinout didn't seem to match any modern FP connector I've used, but again swapping pins would probably get the job done. Dealing with old MBs can get to be a real PITA. -- John McGaw [Knoxville, TN, USA] http://johnmcgaw.com
