Please log in for more thread options will run at compared to a SATA 2 hard drive. I found a SATA 250 gig 10,000 RPM 16 mb Cache hard drive on ebay, will a SATA 2 10,000 RPM 16mb cache hard drive run faster? at the proposed 3 gig /sec than the 1.5 gig /sec? or will both drives run at 1.5 g /sec? so dose SATA run at 1.5 gig /sec and SATA 2 run at 3 gig /sec if so dose the hard drive have to be a SATA 2 to get the 3 gig /sec? Thanks Shaun B.

Please log in for more thread options Either one will be satisfactory since the SATA standards are never remotely realized in practice except for on-board cache transfers. Your SATA controller will never do more than maybe 70MB-100B/sec sustained. Q

Please log in for more thread options For your information: there are no manufactured 10,000 rpm SATA 1 or SATA 2
harddrives that contain more than 150 GB. (And that model is made by Western Digital.) -- DaveW ---------------- > Hi I need to know some info about the different speed that a SATA hard
