Desktop Keyboard stalls during typing . Roy 07-03-08

Hello group
I just experienced something peculiar with a desktop keyboard and
that is when I press the key the cursor just won=92t move and the
motherboard emits an annoying humming sound .
Hence I can=92t do my typing anymore=85.
Could somebody teach me how to sort this out? Being more of laptop
user , I never had this experience with the notebook keyboard but only
with desktops.

Sounds like there is a key stuck - this doesn't necessarily mean a key is
physically stuck though.

Try pressing all the shift, alt and Ctrl keys a few times, then see what
happens. You might even find that a reboot sorts it out.

Thanks for your input.
I did try pressing the keys and it did nothing, lately the mouse is
behaving erratically. It suddenly stops working. Trying to plug and
uplug it did not improve anything.
I really need drastically to shut down the computer and restart it
again . But after sometime the same problem occur, the mouse just
stops working.
Is this anybody that is familiar with this particular problem and what
solution is appropriate for this?
