Please log in for more thread options My computer bootup stops at "Updating ESCD ... Building DMI Pool ." in 7 seconds after turning on. How to make my computer bootup? My mainboard is Chaintech 6btm. Reseting BIOS to default settings did not help. Best regards, Dima +79035093892

Please log in for more thread options Thats not that unusual, basically its the last text that is put on the screen before the drivers etc are loaded, so if there is a problem with that, that is what you see on the screen. > How to make my computer bootup?
Try a logged boot, from the F8 menu, that should show how far its getting and what it stops booting at. > My mainboard is Chaintech 6btm.
> Reseting BIOS to default settings did not help. If there isnt anything useful that comes out of the logged boot, see what happens if you unplug any non essential cards. If that still stalls, check for bad caps on the motherboard.

Thanks Rod for your suggestions! The F8 does not appear on the screen to call the F8 menu. Do you mean jumpers or cards by the caps on the motherboard? Best regards, Dima

No, caps is an abbreviation of capacitors. These are the usually blue or black plastic covered post like things that stick up vertically from the motherboard surface. The tops should be flat. If any have bulged or have leaked, thats a bad cap and can be the problem.
