Best SATA drive setup? Use ICH9R or Gigabyte SATA Controller?

Please log in for more thread options Gigabyte motherboard # GA-P35-DS4 The MB has two different SATA controllers. It has an Intel SATA controller ICH9R with 6 SATA connectors (ports) and a Gigabyte SATA drive controller with 2 SATA connectors(ports) I have 2 SATA hard drives. (not to used in RAID) and 1 SATA DVD-RW drive. I thought I read somewhere that the Intel ICH9R controller would perform better than the Gigabyte controller. Is that true? Would it make any performance difference what drive is used in what controller or port? For example should I use the Intel controller for the hard drives and the Gigabyte controller for the DVD to separate the loads? Thanks, Lou | ||||||||||
