Beeps from machine speaker during boot?

Please log in for more thread options running fairly well. Thing is, during boot at 'verifying DMI pool data' it starts beeping continually until W98 desktop comes up. Then it stops beeping until the next boot. Sometimes it does the same thing during shutdown. Any ideas? Thanks | |||||||||||||

Please log in for more thread options 1st thing I would do replace the 2032 CMOS battery. If it's been stood a while the battery may have lost it's ability to store a charge from the mother board re-charge circuit.
