netscreen-25: exact function of 'manage IP' on an interface?

I'm looking at our netscreen-25 config and trying to work a few things out.... (running screenOS 3.01 btw).

I've been reading the netscreen docs and they're not exactly crystal clear about what "manage IP" actually means.... It would appear to mean that you can specify an IP address to configure the netscreen via.

What exactly is the distinction between the trusted interface IP address and the managed IP address on an given interface. I presume they cannot be the same IP address?

Also, does the untrusted interface IP address have to be an actual usable IP address (as I assume is the case), or can it specify the network address and netmask for the subnet it is dealing with?

(By, this is all in the case where the mode is NAT.)
