Nav 2005 and free firewall

I have just upgraded to Nav 2005 and our free version of Zone alarm does not work with it. Is there a free firewall out there that will work alongside Norton anti virus 2005?

I have NAV2005 and ZAF5.5 on XP and they work fine

- I believe that ZA began to support XP SP2 after version 5.1 but there were some other problems. They seem to have stabilized with version 5.5

However, I am not running the latest incarnation of 5.5 yet...I have

5.5.062.004

The problem isn't with sp2 but with NAV 2005. ZA worked really well with NAV 2004 before I upgraded to 2005.

well, what OS are you using and what version of ZAF are you running?

I ran ZAF successfully with NAV2004 and now with NAV2005 - like I said it's

5.5.062.004

but, like you, I originally did have a problem with ZAF and NAV2005 until I installed 5.5.062.004

good luck!

I am running 5.5 062.011? I was prompted to update to this version? Perhaps I should back date it? thanks for your help.

I have been a little gun-shy to upgrade too quickly with ZA since the debacle I encountered with some early versions of 5.1 - so I have avoided

5.5.062.011 for now

- the one I currently use (...004) seems to work well with NAV2005 and XPSP2.

Here is a link to some ZoneAlarm forums that may be of use to read and/or ask questions:

this one seems to have a discussion about ZA 5.5.062.011 and NAV2005

(they mention that NAV2005 has Norton Internet Worm Protection which they say is a partial firewall and they suggest that you should disable it to prevent conflicts with ZA ---- I have NOT done this my version ...004 and I seem to be ok)

good luck!
