Please log in for more thread options Will a fiber optic module on a switch utilizing a 1310nm wavelength be able to communicate with a fiber optic module on another switch utilizing a 1300nm wavelength? Thanks

Please log in for more thread options Both wavelengths are probably "nominal" and will have a tolerance of +/-10 or +/-20 nm. In that respect the answer could be yes. Important is however the fact whether these are multimode (MM) or singlemode (SM) systems. Normally 1310 is used as a wavelength for SM systems and 1300 nm as a wavelength for MM systems. This has to be checked! Arnie
