Internet Slowness

We have about 40 Switches in our network which span 9 buildings with T1 connection between the buildings. Our Internet connections is very very very slow. An analysis done by a consulting company suggested that we add spanning-tree root value o all our core switches. Would this improve our internet experince, or are ther other things the we can do to improve or Internet performance. Thanks.

(1) Please come up with something more "unique" than " snipped-for-privacy@somewhere.com" and if it's not a valid address stick a ".invalid" on the end of it.

(2) This looks like a homework problem for a variety of reasons, and a poorly posed one at that. Among other things a real consulting company would have given you a report explaining _why_ that change would make a difference and an estimate of the magnitude of the change, as well as telling you what else they looked at and why it _won't_ help.

(3) If this _is_ a real question, well, look at your bandwidth.

It could. It's possible your root bridge is somewhere way down in your end users closets. But if you have 40 switches, and you're talking T1 connections, I would first suspect BW contention issues
