enhanced LACP

Hello,

I heard of implementation(s) of LACP that are extending the 802.1ax standard. Googling for "extended LACP" gave some links on vedors white papers, of course without serious details on what exactly is extended. Could anyone give some clues on what is normally implied by "extended LACP" or e-LACP? Is this a way links within LAG handled, or more sophisticated algorithms of resiliency and redundancy of lnks ?

PS. I am doing a research on it for academics purpose. Would be happy to hear some comments or pointers where to look at. Thanks.
