Please log in for more thread options Does anyone have a recommendation for a small sensor...something like a T-1 packaging that is a good choice for detecting to see if a door is open based upon outside light only. Basically I need an ambient light sensor. I was looking at some phototransistors but most have a visible light filter. This is for a safety switch that will look to see if any outside light is entering a cavity. Surface mount is an option but not an ideal one.

For more accurate reading, adjust the reading with a temperature sensor such as the NCP18WF104 themistor.

Thanks. How do these things respond to heat? it's going to be next to a heat source that will be going up and down. There isn't any data available on their website.
