I am asking myself the same question since they became Intel based... Perhaps we could also ask "what's the difference"? (apart from MS & Apple marketing them as different things). OS-X is BSD unix. It is quite robust. Jobs (the person) talks about removing DRM completely. In that case Vista is a joke, as it is the only new thing it has. So it could well be Vista is dead already, and Apple is always twice the price. Linux is free, but you will have to set apart a few years to learn Unix, and then also a few years to write the apps you cannot find or buy.
