why not use OSPF replace iBGP

hi, all I have one confusion why not use OSPF to replace iBGP for BGP speaker information update at one AS?

For example: AS1 connect to AS4's R1 (BGP speaker), AS2 connects to AS4's R2 (BGP speaker) AS3 connects AS4's R3 (BGP speaker),

R1 AS1, R2 AS2, R3AS3 communications use eBGP protocol.

however, to avoid loop, R1, R2, R3 communication uses iBGP protocol, why not use OSPF protocol, this can avoid loop and oscillation

If you use OSPF, you lose the BGP AS path information from the routes, which is needed for loop detection.
