serial number for 7600

Please log in for more thread options I have been asked to supply the serial number for some 7600s - so they can be explicitly identified for insurance purposes and a bit later for service contract. Not quite sure what might meet this requirement - is there a serial ID physically fixed to the box. Might the MAC address be OK or something else -possibly queried by telnet (or SNMP). there are a variety of commands that may give you the info you are looking for show version show hardware show inventory show module show diag show idprom backplane There will be a serial number for the chassis affixed somewhere you need to look at one and them match up the output from the above commands the will be a chgassi serial number and there will be a module serila number for each o the cards in the chassis along with power supplies etc | |||||||||||||
