Hi, I am a UNIX Sys Admin. I am trying to create my own home network. I have dsl. I have purchased a cheap Dlink router and placed it behind the router from the dsl company and hooked up many systems to the dlink router.
I am getting intermittent connection from the computers attached to the dlink router. I tried with routers from other manufacturers but saw the same intermittent connections.
Now I believe that my "private network" should work at top notch speeds because I am behind a router at that point.
Something may however be wrong with non-industrial strength routers. Do I need to purchase a cisco router? Please advise.
