Modem sharing

I have some users who have been connecting modems to their machines to dial out for various things. Some of the callees are custom pieces of equipment with modems, and not onthe Internet so this is the only way for them to make a connection.

I was thinking about putting something in our DMZ, and having its modems shared with this device. Basically redirecting the com ports to this device, which would dial out on their behalf.

Anyone have a suggestion on what is the best option to look at to do this?

We use a digital modem pool on an AS5300 for both dial-in and dial-out. For modem dial-out we use Tactical Software's Dialout-EZ, which effectively provides a virtual COM port.
