external ip on internal interface

Hi,

Does the SOHO91 (SB106) support something like IP-passthrough? The ISP uses PPoA.

The idea is to connect the cisco to a Linux server that will be the firewall.

Netopia routers support something that is called IP-passthrough, it puts the external IP address on the (external)interface of the linux server.

Not sure there, but you can use FreeBSD as a 'invisible' firewall in front of the Cisco by bridging the two nics and having a IP filter/ chain. Very cool stuff!

Apologize that I didn't answer your question, don't have any experience with Cisco's broadband stuff.....may look for ip- passthrough or something regarding 'bridging' as that is really what you are talking about from a network perspective.
