Hi,
I have flash only 4MB on 2505 router. Does anyone know any IOS under 4
MB which can be instaled on router 2505 and make its serial interface
s0 to work properly in serial connection with another router?

If you have at least 8 mb of ram, you can try loading larger images direct
into memory from an tftp server.

Thank you Drake,
I've just determined that I have only 1 MB of RAM:
"cisco 2505 (68030) processor (revision K) with 1024K/1024K bytes of
memory"
Can you give me any suggestions what is important when buying RAM. I
found that I have on my board one slot free with 80 pins. Is the number
of pins only important or I have to take attention during buying on
something else?

1. This 1 MB of ram is fixed (soldered) on the board. You have a empty
dram slot you can populate with either an 4mb, 8mb or 16 mb simm.
You need to get cisco compatible (72 Pin?) simms.

2. The 2500 series has two slots for flash memory. One of them is now
populated with a 4 mb simm. You can add another 4 mb simm for a
total of 8 mb. You can also take the 4 mb simm out and add 2x8mb
simsm for a cool 16 mb of flash mem :-)

You really need to max out the ram and flash to run recent ios releases. The
latest you can run on the 2500 series is 12.3(20) I think.

Thanks Drake,
I open the router phisically and I determined that I have 2 slots for
flash (in one slot I have card of 4 MB) and one slot of DRAM but it is
not empty!!!. One simm is in it , simm with 72 pins. Where I can see
the amount of memory I have in this slot ? When I turn on the router I
only see one sentence concerning the memory:
cisco 2505 (68030) processor (revision K) with 1024K/1024K bytes of
memory.
Is it posible that I have the bad memory in that slot and that I can't
see it?
Best,
Vitibor
