Please log in for more thread options intermittently they drop all network traffic. They don't lose power but just drop all traffic. They don't even do it at the same time. There is no consistency. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Please log in for more thread options 1. Network topology - exactly how are the 5 switch connected. 2. VLANS used on each switch 3. Is trunking used between switches 4. Make and model of switchews with software version 5. When the problem occurs, how long does the traffic loss last for ?

Please log in for more thread options Everything ends up plugged into a 4506. You have 4 other swithces (other
than the 4506). Two are directly connected to the 4506 and the the last two are plugged into the 2 that are directly connected to the core switch. So there is some stacking. VLANS are setup but disabled. Not sure exactly whey someone did that though. No trunking. Switch models are: 4506 and 4 3550 switches. Problem has no consistency so I can't give you when it occurs. It lasts only for a few minutes. Thanks

Have extra hosts been sowly added to the network recently? Are you sure no-one is adding another switch below the "known" switches? Also your original post states - > I have a weird issue. I have 4 or 5 switches (all different makes)
and yet above you say -
"> Switch models are: 4506 and 4 3550 switches"
I assume you meant they are all different MODEL's, not makes?
