Please log in for more thread options Here is my configuration. I have a dell laptop running WS2k3, it is serving DNS and DHCP to clients. That dell is plugged into a basic netgear swtich, which has 2 Cisco Aironet 1231 AP's connected to it. 200 Dell PDA's right now are configured for those 2 access points on separate SSID's. So, 100 on one SSID, 100 on a different SSID. My question is, can I configure the Aironets, to have the same SSID, and then when one AP becomes overloaded, or starts dropping clients, will the other Aironet automatcially pickup that new client? A sort of load balancing? Thanks!

Please log in for more thread options Event though this is a pure load balance issue? Right now, with more than 100 clients connected to one AP, it starts to drop them, even though there is another AP with the same SSID just waiting for them to connect. They don't jump over. They only jump over when there is a loss of connectivity (power failure).

AFAIK the APs do not perform load balancing. This would require that an AP be able to instruct a clent to associate with a different AP.
