Can use a Linksys BEFSR41 router as pure switch, can I disable
routing somehow?

Turn off dhcp, and don't use the WAN/Internet port. You will then
need one connection in the back of the switch going to your existing
infrastructure or switches, and the rest will simply be client switch
ports.
