I have a Linksys router set up with my PC's Ethernet adapter and it works
fine for internet connection.
It can access the websites and Outlook Express emails. It can get updates
for Computer Associates EZ Anti-virus. But it cannot connect to all my
antispyware programs such as Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy,
SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard LiveUpdate and Bazooka. It says cannot access
or cannot connect.

I used to be able to update when I was on the Alcatel USB ADSL modem.
Reverting to Alcatel allowed me to connect to websites and Outlook Express
as before but not the antispyware updates.

TIA for any ideas.

Mike

Problem solved.

I found that I could not connect for updates because my EZ firewall Internet
Security Zone was somehow changed to High. Reverting to Medium allowed
updates to pass through.
