I have a Starcom router (UT-304R2) provided by my ADSL provider but I
have access to its web-based interface. Its LAN IP Address is
192.168.1.1.
I am able to change this to a different IP address but whenever I
restart this router, the LAN IP address is reset to 192.168.1.1. Any
idea, what causes this to happen? Is there a setting that I can use to
prevent this from happening?

Thanks.

could be set in the firmware by your isp.. probably to add less
confusion for their helpdesk.

Flamer.
