Please log in for more thread options only a limited amount of CAM memory and must be allocated for mac addresses (switching and multicast) and CEF tables (routing). The SDM profile adjusts how much CAM memory is allocated for each of these purposes. The command to see how CAM is allocated is something like "show sdm profile" | |||||||||||||

I don't know >Cisco give one numner for switch or also has a limited >MAC size number for a single port. >Any comments? on the smaller switches it is 1 table for the entire switch. 1 other thing to watch is there is not much buffer memory (2Mbyte for all ports on a 24p 10/100 + 2 SFP unit) - we have some acting as "WAN edge" routers for 10 and 100 Mbps Ethernet WAN, and tweaking the buffers to handle GigE -> 10M has some compromises.
