Pursuing certs other than Cisco

Is it worthwhile to pursue other certs such as CompTIA, MicroSoft, Juniper, etc.?

Is there enough overlap that you don't have to reinvent the wheel each time, as for as studying goes?

I'm really enjoying the Cisco study and feel myself turning into a computer geek. And I'm okay with it.

Mitch,

I think the real question here is always: do I need the MCSE to go along with my cisco? It doesn't hurt but it isn't nesscessary.

It depends on where your focus is. Are you at the Associate or Pro level? If you are at the Associate level, you are going to need the A+ and the Network+. You should also at least get your MCSA.

If you are at the Professional level, where is your focus? Wireless? Security? VOIP? Cuz then I'd suggest Security+ or the Planet3 CWNA.
