Programming?

In addition to pursuing the CCNA, should I also be learning a programming language such as Java or C#?

If you want to expand your knowledge and if your job is not exactly work with networks - answer is Yes, but if you are working as network admin, where you will configure and maintenance enterprise networks - you will waste your time on learning C and Java.

If you're planning on working with routers and switches, AND want a good programming language to learn, do yourself a favor and learn Perl (or even some ksh would be useful).

There's ALWAYS a need for someone who can write scripts and gather information via SNMP. If you know networking and scripting, you will find yourself much more valuable to the company.
