Problems running Netsim

I'm having trouble getting Netsim to run on my laptop. The program seems to install OK (without errors, anyway), but when I try to run it, the program just hangs continuing to fill the netsim.log file with the following entries:

11/04/2006 15:14:05 - cmd: -- error is 0 Get Lang for ID() - - 3706 - Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed. 11/04/2006 15:14:05 - cmd: -- error is 0 Get Lang for ID() - - 3709 - The connection cannot be used to perform this operation. It is either closed or invalid in this context. 11/04/2006 15:14:05 - cmd: -- error is 0 Get Lang for ID() - - 3709 - The connection cannot be used to perform this operation. It is either closed or invalid in this context. 11/04/2006 15:14:05 - cmd: -- error is 0 Get Lang for ID() - - 3704 - Operation is not allowed when the object is closed. 11/04/2006 15:14:05 - cmd: -- error is 0 Get Lang for ID() - - 3704 - Operation is not allowed when the object is closed. 11/04/2006 15:14:05 - cmd: -- error is 0 Get Lang for ID() - - 3265 - Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or ordinal.

(the last 3 lines just keep repeating forever)

Also, the Network Designer will run, but without any text in any windows or dialogs. I would guess that the software is unable to connect to the languages.mdb file which appears to contain all the text for the menus etc.

I am having no luck with Boson's support and was hoping to get a lot of work done with this over the Easter weekend - can anyone help me out here? I've tried everything suggested in Boson's support faqs, including reinstalling MSJET4.0, MDAC2.8 and so on with no luck. Its starting to drive me nuts.

I'm using an IBM T40 with XP Pro, SP1 and plenty of RAM and disk space.

TIA

Simon
