ISDN Switch Choices

I'm looking at two option for ISDN simulation in my lab:

  1. Adtran Atlas 550 2. Madge / Picturetel / Teleos / Initia Model 20

Any observations on either choice?

Thanks, Matt

I have an Adtran Atlas 830 and a 550 in my lab for use as a real ISDN switch and as a frame cloud. Furthermore, I can groom out my DS0s and Dax them as well as MUX and IMUX the BRIs. There is even a router built in for use in the frame relay terminations to route between DLCIs. It is great stuff, but I don't know much about the others. trhe biggest thing is that the free tech support available is the best.

By the way the Adtran Netvanta routers and switcheds configure up very similarly to Cisco and I actually am using those in running networks now since they are a lot cheaper. But for certification purposes you should still get Cisco unless you need to do some interop work.

Cheers,

Will
