Does anybody know if you can get your CCNP if your CCNA expired? Or must you recertify your CCNA first?

You can pass all the CCNP exams but you will not be recognised as CCNP until you are a valid CCNA...

Only if your current CCNA is still active. It will not recert an expired cert.

Yes, since CCNA is a requirement for the CCNP.

Maybe what I should say is

"Will an expired CCNA prevent you from getting your CCNP"?

A VALID CCNA + all CCNP exams = CCNP

That Stinks... So if your CCNA expired last year, you have to recertify before going onward for a CCNP. That blows and its waste of money. I think I might go spend my dollars on becoming Juniper Certified. :)'
