Please log in for more thread options For Altium Designer, I have been using the QualECAD 3-D viewer (www.qualecad) plugin to image my pcbs in 3-D, and it's very nice. It places gray boxes over components that have a height attached to them. But it can also use VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) models for more accurate component bodies, if you provide the model file. I was wondering if anyone could recommend an easy to use, intuitive and inexpensive modeling program that doesn't have a steep learning curve that could be used to build simple models of simple parts (resistors, IC's, etc.) which outputs VRML-format files?

BEST 3D SOFTWARE IS AUTODESK INVENTOR!. I by the way have one license to sell because we no longer need that Engineer who was on it, I keep anothe rlicense, we started with 2. Check Autodesk websote: Inventor11 is $5200. I can let it go for $2000. Do NOt respond on Newsgroups, email instead and remove "death2spammers" strings repeated in my email twice, or something to that effect, you know what i mean.

I'd say that Inventor is probably just a liiiiiitle overkill for someone who wants to just have a 3D Representation of their board don't ya think? -- Stephan 2003 Yamaha R6 kimi no koto omoidasu hi nante nai no wa kimi no koto wasureta toki ga nai kara
