Please log in for more thread options Hello, Just looking for opinions on fibre optic couplers. We have to go 20 feet, and we only have 6 foot patch cords. Can we use some simplex multimode fibre couplers to connect three patch cords together? What sorts of problems, if any, could we expect? NOTE: We're still within our distance limitation. Dave, You can use fiber couplers to join four 6 foot patch cords; expect a loss of 0.5 to 1 db per coupler. And for that short of a distance, you'll have minimal cable loss. It will look kludgy. Make sure the couplers are dust free by blowing them out with canned air. Dave Walsh wrote: > Hello,
