Virtual memory issue

I'm using Cebride.net north of Dallas. I have a Ambit U10C018 modem.

I've has DSL for 3 years and it was working ok. When I switched over to cable my virtual memory is getting eaten up. When I clean boot the PC I'm using around 326 meg if VM. If I do nothing but let the PC sit for a day I can have 1.2 gig of VM in use. Any ideas??

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Did you make the mistake of installing the CD the cable company gave you?

Nope. The PC is just as it was when I was using DSL. Nothing has been installed.
