How do you solve unknown data activity.

I have a Netgear WGR614 v4 router hooked up to Comcast cable modem (Terayon TJ715). The internet light on my Netgear 614 and the Data light on my Comcast modem are constantly blinking. No other light on my Netgear is blinking so that tells me that no device is accessing internet with my LAN.

Are there any tools compatible with the modem or Netgear router to see what is going on? According to their website, Wallwatcher is not compatible with this model.

Thanks in advance.

I am getting constant arp request from my Motorola SB 4220. Makes the leds usless for watching for activity.

it's arp requests. depending on the size of the network (example a /16

would support over 65k hosts and the only way to know who's who is to

arp or map an ip address to the mac address.

Just curious - why are you responding to 6 month old posts ?

I see the same on my SB5100. I didn't have that situation on my Terayon modem, which had separate send and receive lights, that flashed only on on data to or from my network.

Maybe he's a government "worker", pretending he's busy. ;-)

Hmmm. I didn't realize that FEMA had anything to do with cablemodems.

It could be that we don't know the regulatory definition of "emergency"
