Cable internet slower than 56k

Its been going slower than a 56k. I called the cable company and the technician said all the wires are fine and he doesnt know whats wrong. He said maybe that since I download alot I have a slower broadband connection. Can someone please help me. I cant stand waiting 5minutes for a webpage to load. I also tried installing my ethernet drivers again. Nothing changed. Btw, I do not have any spyware or viruses so that cannot be the cause. | ||||||||||||||||

You might want to try starting your computer in safe mode. You might have a program that might be slowing down your computer. >
